Thos Simpson Black Horse Brewery Wilcannia Poster

$24.00$85.00

The first advertisement for this brewery appeared in the September 1880 edition of the Wilcannia Times. It gave the proprietor’s name, Thomas Simpson, and assured the public that ‘the finest ingredients have been purchased and courteous service is assured’. Simpson also produced cordials.

In 1883 the Black Horse Brewery Co. Ltd was formed to acquire the brewery and cordial factory of Thomas Simpson. Simpson then left the district to settle in Walgett, where he had established a brewery. This poster would date from 1880.
