Melbourne’s second pub-brewery was established in the Royal Hotel at North Melbourne by the Port Melbourne Brewing Company. This was a joint venture with the Matilda Bay Brewing Co. Ltd of Nedlands, Perth, in turn owned by Brewtech.

The Port Melbourne Brewery started in 1988 and was also known for a brief period as the Tiger’s Head Brewery, and later the Redback Brewery, named after one of its beers. Shortly after, Matilda Bay took total control of the brewery. In 1999, Carlton and United Breweries Limited purchased Brewtech. Among their assets was the Matilda Bay Brewery at Nedlands, Perth and the Port Melbourne Brewery.

Carlton and United Breweries continued to operate the brewery until late in 1999, and during much of this time the brewery was used for the production, under license, of Stella Artois. By February 2000, the brewing equipment was in the process of being removed.

Our products are delivered with a tissue wrap and rolled into a secured tube or
envelope (sandwiched between cardboard stiffeners to eliminate damage). Our
postage costs are for Australian customers only, for international sales please
contact us prior to purchase to arrange a quote for delivery. We ship via Australia
Post for all our art prints. Private courier can be arranged by request.
