Fremantle Brewery, ‘Brewing Up a Storm’ Mariner Bitter

In 1992 Irishman Brian Deighan set up the Fremantle Brewing Co. Pty Ltd. Brewing commenced early in 1993, and within a year or two the company claimed to have established about 300 outlets throughout Western Australia. Popular beers were Mariner Bitter and Mariner Light Bitter.

The brewery was taken over by the Swan Brewery in Perth in 1996. Brewing continued with the release of new products such as 1857 Pilsener, Swan Stout and O’Flanagan’s Cream Stout, all under the Fremantle Brewery name. The brewery closed in November 1997.
