Tasmanian Dandelion Ale Poster

Tasmanian Dandelion Ale was manufactured by Mr. G. Nicholls at 8 George-street, Camperdown. The proprietor commenced the business originally in Tasmania, but the extensive orders from New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, and also the Island trade, made it necessary to remove the brewery to New South Wales.
The principal constituents of the ale are sugar, dandelion root and-hops, and all materials used were the best obtained in the market. Several prizes were awarded for Tasmanian Dandelion Ale, including the two highest awards at the Melbourne Centennial Exhibition in 1888-89, and in 1883 a silver medal was obtained at the Tasmanian Industrial exhibition. This poster was printed for the Victorian agency for the product.
