Cascade Brewery C. & J. Degraves Tasmania Poster

It was a sad time when Peter Degraves the founding partner of the famous Cascade Brewery in Tasmania died at his home at the Cascades on 31 December 1852. His two capable sons, Charles and John, continued to run the various business enterprises, and their brother-in-law, James Wilson, managed the brewery.

This poster was produced in the 1860’s and drawn by W.C.Piguenit showing the magnificent industrial complex in the ‘Cascades’ of Hobart. Two labels are reproduced in full and the Tasmanian Tiger represented which for 150 years has became synonymous with the Cascade brand.
